Tailored to suit your needs

Whether you organise and run a Kennel Club society, small unaffiliated agility club or conduct private one-to-one training, you need insurance. One never knows what can happen and you need to be protected for any event. The Kennel Club understands the challenges which is why they have introduced two insurance schemes that are specifically designed to meet them. We asked them to explain.

The insurance schemes we have developed have the advantage that they are available for all canine disciplines including Agility, Obedience as well as Flyball. They are also flexible because cover can commence when you want it to, and you can tailor either policy to reflect your individual, unique needs.

Kennel Club insurance for clubs and trainers1. Kennel Club Insurance for Dog Training Instructors
The Kennel Club Insurance for Dog Training Instructors is an ideal insurance solution for those who train on a one-to-one or informal group basis and do not run a club or society.

The policy provides £2.5 million of essential Public Liability insurance as standard, which gives you the reassurance that you are covered if someone is injured or property damaged whilst at one your training classes or on your premises and you are held liable.

This cover also includes:-

  • Trainer to trainer or handler to handler liability, providing cover for trainees if they or their dogs cause injury or damage another trainee at your training classes.

  • Trainee’s or handler’s personal liability, covering injury or damage to someone at your training classes.

 2. Kennel Club Insurance for Canine Clubs & Societies
This insurance scheme is a complete package that is designed to cover the assorted needs of not only the organiser or secretary, but the Club/Society as a whole including all club/society meetings, events and shows as well as functions attended by your club/society.

£2.5 million Public Liability Insurance - Provided as standard, which is an essential requirement for all Kennel Club registered events, and covers you if someone is injured or property is damaged, including:

  • All competitors/participants and their dogs

  • Organisers and/or Committee members

  • Judges and Stewards

  •  Officials and/or employees working at an event

This cover also includes member to member liability where you can extend cover to include the personal liability of the club/society members, such as your committee, officials and exhibitors for any injury or damage to their property whilst participating within the activities of your club/society.

Choose YOUR cover
In addition to essential Public Liability - you can then ‘tailor’ your policy depending upon your unique, personal needs by selecting any or all of the following sections for either of the insurance schemes:

  •  £10 Million Employer’s Liability Cover (free unless you incur wages) – If you employ people either as volunteers or on a paid basis - this section provides cover for your legal liability if they were to become injured or hurt whilst working for you at a training class or show.

  • £2,500 Cup and Trophy Cover – If you have any cups or trophies at a club/society event or your training session, this section will provide cover up to £2,500 for theft, accidental loss or damage.

  •  £10,000 Hired/Owned Property Cover – If, as an agility club organiser or trainer you use expensive equipment such as Jumps, A-frames, Weaves etc. This section will cover you up to £10,000 should you need to replace these if they become lost, damaged or stolen.

  •  £1,000 Money Protection – You can choose this section to cover any monies that you have at events or training sessions up to £1,000 in value.

  •  £100,000 Professional Indemnity Cover – Designed for training in particular, where you could have to pay compensation to a trainee who has alleged that they lost out financially because of something you have done.
