Faking It
For those not familiar with the format of this programme, Faking
It is a transformational battle against the odds. Our hero is plucked from their natural
habitat and given four weeks to master a skill well enough to fool a group of expert judges.
During the month of intensive training, top practitioners, famous in their field, tutor the
faker. So what does this have to do with dog training? And what does it have to do with
agility? Let's start at the beginning. |

Going Globo Loco
When Virginia Harry posted a request for a 'Frisbee' dog, Mandy Melville- Love
volunteered the services of her four year old Border Collie, Jess. It wasn't long before
she was appearing on children's television programme with a Frisbee and a green
crocodile. |

Michael Ball's Giant Dog Agility Challenge
How difficult
would it be to make a show dog out of a Great Dane? Well, actually two Great Danes. It
was a doggie challenge with a difference when agility instructors Helen Taylor and Julia
Reid took their giant breed dogs Measles and Harlequin Zara to the Michael Ball Show.
What happened next had the audience is fits of laughter. |

Tramp
Brenda Tenton's lurcher, Tramp, played the part of Claude Jeremiah
Greengrass's dog in the TV series Heartbeat for six years. It came about by chance after
Tramp had retired from agility because of back problems. Although being the mouthpiece of a
scruffy mongrel does not do wonders to your morale, Brenda says 'You get used to it! Here is
the talk she gave to the Scouts about him recently. |
