Cross Breed

In a nutshell: A one of a kind

JaffaAlso known as: Heinz 57, Mongrel, Curbstone Sitter, Mutt

Description: Can be any size, colour, shape - all of the above or none of the above!

Temperament: The good ones are kind and gentle, honest dogs. Can be totally reliable and extremely healthy or not.

Advantages as an agility dog:

  • Can be very tough and strong
  • Good fun to work
  • You never know what they are going to do next, which makes it fun, I think!

Disadvantages as an agility dog:

  • The unknown!
  • Tight turns can be a problem and weaves
  • Speed

Gina Graham & DizzyRating out of 10 and why:  For me, as my dog is enthusiastic so 10/10. Seeing her charge round a course beating a few collies along the way is just great for me.

Examples of dogs that have done well in agility: Claudine Longueira-Barr with Betty

What's it like to live with as a pet: Fantastic, completely trust worthy in any situation, except when food's around in the kitchen, then we turn into a top secret agent!

Just a wee note to say I enjoyed the article but, of course, I am biased - the best wee man had to be Jaffa. (14/06/02)
