The Final
Judge: Andy Brown

I was very pleased to be invited to judge the Alpha Agility Challenge Final at Malvern on Sunday, 26 September 2010. It is always exciting to judge an agility final especially when it is at a large public event like the Autumn Flower Show.

The final course was not quite as I designed with an altered approach to the A-frame, meaning I had to run to see the contacts but the safety of the dogs comes first.

The final turned out to be an exciting affair with several dogs just having one tiny mistake - a missed contact or a dropped fence pole preventing them from winning. The handlers who were able to keep their nerve under pressure shone through especially Keith Britton with Thornbury Nell who were drawn first and held onto their lead throughout the final.

Many thanks to Graham Taylor for asking me to judge and all the people who helped set and run the ring. Congratulations to all the finalists and thanks for making the final so exciting. Thanks to Alpha Feeds for the sponsorship of our grass root agility.
