On the road to the KC Agility Stakes Finals...

Supported by
GWF Joint Aid for Dogs

One of the most important agility 'showcase' events takes place every December at Olympia's London International Horse Show. Each year the country's most talented agility dogs and handlers vie with each other in qualifying heats at agility shows across the country to gain a coveted invitation to compete at the Kennel Club Olympia Stakes Finals.  Olympia starts off with a series of qualifiers held at agility shows all over the UK throughout the year. The highest placed dogs in those qualifying heats meet at the Semi-finals, held at the City of Birmingham Championship breed show in September, where they compete for a place in the Finals at Olympia itself.

Olympia Finalists Announced

This year’s finalists of the prestigious Kennel Club Olympia Agility Stakes Finals have been announced.

The country’s most talented agility dogs and handlers have been competing in qualifying heats at agility shows across the country in an attempt to gain a place in the finals that take place from 18-22 December 2013, as part of the London International Horse Show.

The Kennel Club Olympia Agility Stakes are held in association with GWF Nutrition’s Joint Aid for Dogs and will see dogs and their owners compete in five finals, in the Small, Medium, Large, Novice and ABC (Anything But Collies) categories.  There will also be two Semi-finals, for the Novice and Large dogs categories, which will see 36 dogs in each category whittled down to ten who will go on to compete in the grand final. For Medium, Small and ABC dogs, ten dogs for each category have already qualified for the Olympia final.

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary said: 'Olympia is one of the most important showcase events for agility in the UK. The atmosphere is always fantastic with it being so close to Christmas and the competitors look forward to competing here every year. We would like to congratulate all of the finalists and look forward to what is set to be another exciting year for the event.'

Judging the 2013 Kennel Club Olympia Agility Stakes will be Bill Glover.

The Kennel Club Olympia Agility Stakes Regulations 2013

  1. All events must be judged under the appropriate Kennel Club Regulations H & H(1) in force at the time of the event. Competitors entering any competition will be deemed to have agreed to abide by these Regulations.

  2. All heats must take place at Kennel Club licensed shows and the class name in the schedule should replicate exactly the name of the competition as stated in these Regulations.

  3. All Kennel Club supported competitions should be judged using standard marking.

(excePart where individual competition rules state differently). Rosettes and awards remain unchanged if the heat is split.

  5. Dogs entered in any heats must be eligible for the competition entered and judges retain the right to check the height of any dog or ask to see the height stated in the Kennel Club Record Book.

  6. Competitors can qualify for any Olympia Final but it must be with different dogs. The first Final a handler qualifies a dog for will be the Final that particular dog competes in at Olympia.
