Everyone thinks their dog is the most beautiful, right? Here is a selection of absolutely gorgeous agility dogs, big and small, submitted by people on the AGILE list for the month of July. Description: Dallas is a ten year old Border Collie bitch. She's been a member of the US Agility Teams (Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Spain) as well as 1996 AKC National Champion 20" and 1994 USDAA Open Division National Champion. She's also done several TV commercials including Frontline and Fruit of the Loom.

Description: Brook is a 2 1/2 year old chocolate Border Collie who likes to sing (whoooo), play tug-o-war with her rope, children with energy and keeps the cats in order. Her favourite obstacle is the A-Frame. She dislikes ironing boards and the Hoover, being rudely awaken to go out for early morning walks, lettuce, the wind and rain. Luckily she's not a working sheepdog!

Description: Shelties as a general rule are beautiful dogs, says Mary Jo, but Taz's red coat and white face blaze make him really stand out! Taz is a four year old sheltie, 15 3/4 inches tall, who excels at a number of sports, including agility, obedience, flyball, freestyle and herding. He is known for his speed in agility, but we're still working on consistency!

Description: Strider is a 7 1/2 year old Basenji who jumps anywhere from 16 inches (AKC) to 24 inches (USDAA, now 22 inches). He is a breed champion, has obedience titles and has titles at the top levels of the AKC agility. Strider is the only Basenji to have agility titles from all of the North American Agility organisations. He has been in a Sony magazine ad and has appeared on TV (Regis and Kathy Lee Live). Training can be difficult. Besides having low drive, Strider's true love is the couch and it shows.

Description: Lookee is a white, blue and tan Sheltie with several offspring showing in conformation, obedience and agility. She has AKC and UKC CDs as well as AKC & NACAC Novice agility titles but no jumpers or gamblers... yet. All her titles were earned after she had turned seven. She was born on the 4th July 1990.

Big Dog Winner 'Best' Action: Dandi

Official Name: CH. Merrimoppet Cedarhills Dandi, CDX, MX Co-Owners/Handler: Barbara Diaz & Karen Rile
Trained by: Barbara Diaz

Description: Dandi, an Old English Sheepdog bitch, is a speedy worker and has beaten border collies and gotten numerous first places. She has been the No.1 rated agility Old English Sheepdog at the Excellent level for the last three years and is the only OES to have obtained a Masters Agility title. She completed the last of the ten required Masters legs eight weeks to the day after giving birth, by cesarean section, to a litter of eight pups. Dandi is also a top obedience competitor and is six years old.

Description: Marley is a three year old Golden Retriever who enjoys dragging socks around the house and hogging all of the toys. She can be very puppy-like and silly or subtle, quiet. She likes chasing birds and running at break neck speed through the park; she dislikes the biscuit on the nose trick. Marley would like a golden boy-dog to hand out with... someday.

Description: Sam is four years old and is a very small corgi male. He is only 10 inches at the shoulder and weighs 18lbs. He has his United States Dog Agility Championship.

Most Loveable Midi: Katie

Official Name: Katie ADM (If Australian dogs are not purebred, they don't have the luxury of a long kennel name.)
Owner/Handler: Liz Barker

Description: Katie, an eight year old X Keeshond/Cattle Dog, has her Masters title which is the highest level of ANKC (Australian National Kennel Control) agility in Australia. She lives in Hoxton Park, Sydney, NSW, Australia with four other dogs and three cats. She was rescued from the Animal Welfare League when she was three and has been doing agility for four years.

Description: Lucy, a lurcher X, was abandoned by some travellers who moved on and left her when she was just three or four weeks old. Luckily for her! She is a fun loving and intelligent dog that loves agility, and even watches herself on the video! Mind you, Karen says that if she didn't have Lucy, they would have a great garden without as many holes dug in the lawn!!
