From the Kennel Club...

The Kennel Club’s objective is to ‘promote in every way the general improvement of dogs’. This includes licensing clubs to run competitions for fun dog sports such as agility and ensuring that shows are safe for both dogs and owners. Incidents that endanger health and well-being are dealt with fairly by the Activities Sub-Committee.

 2013

At its meeting held on 20 June 2013, the Activities Sub-Committee imposed the following penalties:-

Breach of Regulation H(1)(A)8.b. – Competitor competed with another competitor’s Grade 2 dog, in Combined Small Agility 1-2 class, despite being a Grade 3 handler or higher herself. Reprimand and warning.

    Miss N Hall (handler) & Miss B Adams (owner) – Penvean Golden Promise at Santhia – at North Derbyshire DAC 'Dog Vegas' Open Agility Show – 16 March 2013.

At its meeting held on 24 September 2013, the Activities Sub-Committee imposed the following penalties:-

Breach of Regulation H(1)(A)2. – Competitor admitted to having progressed from Grade 2 to Grade 3 with her dog despite having incurred time faults in the winning round. Reprimand, warning and all awards gained incorrectly disqualified.

Breach of Regulation H11. – Dog Not Under Control – Reprimand, warning, dog’s record marked and fine as listed:

  • Collie (Smooth) – Norfield Oh What a Knight – owned by Miss J Page, following an incident at Golden Valley DTC's Open Agility Show on 16 June 2013. Fine £50

  • Border Terrier – Northborders Mr Pickles - owned by Miss J North, following an incident at Ribble DATC's Open Agility Show on 23 June 2013. Fine £50

  • Working Sheepdog – Enchanting Wizard of Chaos – owned by Mrs S Chapman, following an incident at Ribble DATC's Open Agility Show on 23 June 2013.

  • Pug – Cole Porter – owned by Miss D Bullock, following an incident at Lune Valley DTC's Premier Agility Show on 6 July 2013.

Breach of Regulation H(1)(B)2.b. and H(1)(B)4.(5) – Competitor entered and competed in Medium height agility classes despite dog being officially measured in the Large height category. Competitor also failed to produce the dog’s Agility Record Book for inspection when requested by the Show Management. Reprimand, warning, fine as listed and awards gained at show in question disqualified.

    Mrs C Spurgeon – Pipsqueek The Fagin – Colchester DAC's Open Agility Show – 21 July 2013. Fine £50

Breach of Regulation H13.a. – Competitor entered and competed with her dog whilst the bitch was in season. Reprimand, warning and fine as listed.

Mrs A Foster – Spitchwick Sophie – Kennel Club International Agility Festival Premier Agility Show – 10 August 2013. Fine £100


 2012

At its meeting held on 6 December 2012 the Activities Sub-Committee imposed the following penalties:-

Breach of Regulation H11. – Dog Not Under Control – Reprimand, fine and dog's record endorsed to confirm that it is no longer eligible for entry at any event held under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations, nor any unlicensed events recognised by the Kennel Club, Regulation B.12.b.(5) refers:

    Border Collie – Bryning Snow Finch, owned by Mrs S Stephens, following an incident at Rushden & District Dog Training Club's Open Agility Show on 5 August 2012.
    Fine £100

At its meeting held on 20 September 2012, the Activities Sub-Committee imposed the following penalties:-

Breach of Regulation H11 – Dog Not Under Control – Reprimand, warning, dog's record marked and fine as listed:
    Border Collie – Nedlo Ready to Wow – owned by Miss S Woodward, following an incident at Roseland Dog Training Club's Open Agility Show on 6 April 2012.

At its meeting held on 1 December 2011, the Activities Sub-Committee imposed the following penalties:-

Belgian Shepherd Dog (Malinois) – Foxbriary Joie de Vivre – owned by Ms S Cafferata, following an incident at Derbyshire DAC Club's Touch Agility Group Open Agility Show on 31 May 2011.
Fine: £50

Working Sheepdog – Highbury Cruiser – owned by Mr M Pike, following an incident at Wellingborough DTC's Open Agility Show on 2 July 2011.
Fine: £100 

At its meeting held on 31 March 2011, the Activities Sub-Committee imposed the following penalties:-

Border Terrier – Brynrevel Chocolate Tip Brockfox – owned by Miss M Dixon following an incident at Derbyshire Dog Agility Club (Adams Agility Show) Open Agility Show on 25 July 2010. 

Border Terrier – Brynrevel Chocolate Tip Brockfox – owned by Miss M Dixon following an incident at Derbyshire Dog Agility Club (Adams Agility Show) Open Agility Show on 26 July 2010.

Working sheepdog –Bellamies Adventurer – owned by Mrs J Horsburgh following an incident at Kingdom of Fife Dog Agility Club's Championship Agility Show on 7 August 2010.

Staffordshire Bull Terrier – What's That Noise – owned by Mr D Roberts following an incident at the Kennel Club International Agility Festival Open Agility Show on 13 August 2010.  Mr Roberts was also advised not to leave his dogs tethered and unsupervised at any time.

Belgian Shepherd Dog (Tervueren) – Minka Obion Jaguar – owned by Mrs S Schofield following an incident at the Ely & District Dog Training Club (Summer Agility Show) Open Agility Show on 29 August 2010. 

Weimaraner – Trubon Bikaos Tryst – owned by Mr A Score following an incident at the Ely & District Dog Training Club (Summer Agility Show) Open Agility Show on 27 August 2010. 
No fine imposed

Breach of Regulation H11 – Dog Not Under Control – Reprimand, warning, £100 fine.  Under Regulation B12.b(5) the dog is no longer eligible for entry in any event held under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations, nor any unlicensed event recognised by the Kennel Club with immediate effect and fine as listed:
Crossbreed – Tinker Tem – owned by Mrs S Tiller, following an incident at Dogs In Need Agility Society's Championship Agility Show on 17 August 2010. 

Breach of Regulation H(1)10a – Harsh Handling – Warning.
Ms R Steen - following an incident at North Derbyshire Dog Agility Club's Open Agility Show on 25 April 2010.

Miss K Jung - following an incident at Suffolk Five Rivers Agility Club's Open Agility Show on 25 September 2010.

Breach of Regulation H(1)10a – Harsh Handling – Fine £150.
Ms T Coomber - following an incident at Burnham & District Dog Training Club's Open Agility Show on 12 September 2010.  Ms Coomber was also warned and reprimanded.

Breach of Regulation  – Championship Judge not approved in time frame – Fine £50
Chippenham Agility Club - Championship Agility Show on 2 October 2011. (Regulation H18.a)

Vyne Agility Club - Championship Agility Show on 2 May 2011. (Regulation H18.a)

Breach of Regulation H4 – Failure to apply for show licences in timeframe – Fine £100
Otley Dog Training Society – Open Agility Shows on 9 and 10 July 2011.


 2010

At its meeting held on 25 March 2010 the Activities Agility Sub-Committee imposed the following penalties:-

Breach of Regulation H.11 – Dog Not Under Control – Fine: £100.00.
Shetland Sheepdog Castlerose Spirit in the Sky, owned by Miss K Stevenson following an incident at the Beacon Agility Dog Training Club's Open Agility Show on 27 September 2009.  Miss Stevenson was also warned and reprimanded.  Under Regulation B.12.b.(5) Shetland Sheepdog Castlerose is no longer eligible for entry in any event held under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations, nor any unlicensed event recognised by the Kennel Club with immediate effect. 

Breach of Regulation H.28 – Failure to pay £50 fine imposed following a Breach of Regulation H.11 – Dog not under control.
Mr P A Dewar, owner of Border Terrier Raljo Blue Jack, is disqualified from competing at, taking part in, attending and/or having any connection with any event licensed by the Kennel Club until such time as his fine is paid.

Breach of Regulation H.11 – Dog Not Under Control – Penalty – Warning & reprimand
Bearded Collie Coalacre Alexandrite, owned by Mrs A Lattimer, following an incident at the Castlereagh & District DTC's Open Agility Show on 4 October 2009. Coalacre Alexandrite's record was also marked.

Breach of Regulation H.11 – Dog Not Under Control – Penalty – Warning & reprimand
Shetland Sheepdog Torriglen Time Team, owned by Ms L Saunders, following an incident at the Castlereagh & District DTC's Open Agility Show on 4 October 2009.  Torriglen Time Team's record was also marked.

Breach of Regulation H(1)(B)4(1) – Dog competed without having been officially measured.
Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cheddar Roo, owned by Mr J Cardwell.  Disqualified from 1st place gained at Honiton & District Canine Society on 14 November 2009.

Breach of Regulation H(1)(B)4(3) – Dog measured second time, less than minimum time frame between measurements.
Crossbreed Blazing Black Beauty, owned by Mrs J Cheshire. Reprimanded and informed dog must compete in Large height classes until it could be measured again.  Blazing Black Beauty disqualified from all awards won since 30 August 2009
