Springs Things Launches Canine Massage Rug
Hall 3, Stand 45b.
Springs
Things will be running a competition to win a Springs Things Canine Massage rug, the innovative
massage rug, which is the culmination of two years’ product development undertaken by
professional sports injury therapist and McTimoney Animal Manipulator, Sarah Hedderly,
stimulates circulation through gentle whole body vibration and is designed to reduce aches and
pains in older dogs and improve performance and recovery in agility competition or show dogs.
'Massage solutions for human and equine use are widely
available, however, there are less products on the market to help our canine friends,'
explains Sarah Hedderly, director of Springs Things. 'I wanted to develop an affordable
solution that owners could use with their dogs in the comfort of their own home and so now
the new canine massage rug addresses this need.'
Springs Things Canine Massage rug is a light-weight
waterproof cover fitted with bespoke software to provide a gentle and relaxing ten-minute, all
over body massage for dogs. The rug is easy for owners to operate and has an automatic cut off
once the massage is completed. It comes with a machine washable removable liner, re-chargeable
batteries, charger and own carry case. There are eight sizes available, ranging from 14-28
inches to suit small terriers right through to large German Shepherd Dogs. Leg straps, chest
and belly straps secure the rug and ensure a good fit.
'Massage is one of the oldest forms of therapy and the
new rug now allows owners to take advantage of the many benefits of massage on a regular
basis, either before or after exercise depending on the dog’s individual needs,' continues
Hedderly. 'It is also a valuable tool for owners to use between any other complementary
therapies such as a McTimoney Animal Manipulation treatment to alleviate muscle stiffness and
improve suppleness.'
There will be
special show offers on all the products with a show offer price on the massage rug of just
£149! (usually £199)
They will also
be launching the Smart suit which is a fleece suit with four legs that is ideal to keep your
dog warm and prevent stiffness when he has got wet. The fleece material wicks moisture away
from your dog while keeping him warm. There is also a zip along the back so that you do not
need to over flex your dogs legs to get the suit on. This makes the Smart suit ideal for older
as well as younger dogs.
Springs Things
is based in Wellington, Somerset. Sarah Hedderly, the founder of Springs Things is a
professional Sports Injury Therapist and McTimoney Animal Therapist and it was from this work
that the idea of the canine massage rug was developed. Springs Things is named after Spring,
Sarah's six year old Springer Spaniel who was heavily involved in product development, research
and modelling!

Q. What make of dog
harness do Louise Cooke's sled dogs wear?
Xtra Dog will be in
Hall One, Stand 125 and we have loads going on. Come and choose a new Spiffy Dog collar,
from Colorado, all 20 styles will be on display with matching leads. Check out our own design
of fleece walking harnesses available in a choice of 10 sizes or even a custom fit if your dog
does not fit a standard size and many different colours to choose from. We also have new foam
harnesses, ideal for dogs that like to swim, as this material does not get wet or freeze. These
are our design based on the thinking of the front part of an x-back sledding harness, but
designed with two rings top and front so that it can be used with a double-ended lead to stop
dogs pulling.
We
will also have the Adanac range of sledding and working dog products from the USA. This
includes the world famous Zima x-back harness used by dog mushers around the world. We will
also have Pawtrekker dog scooters available.
We have used Zima
harnesses exclusively for the past 6 years, they are long lasting, fast drying, and most
importantly fit well and are comfortable, we have never had any issues with harness rub at
all. We highly recommend them!
Louise Cooke - Dog
musher

And

who do not know Mandy, she is the charismatic inventor of the Dicky Bag. She will be with us
every day. Her wonderful neoprene bag, now made in Cornwall is the ultimate answer to dog poo,
for more details checkout
http://www.xtradog.com/dicky-bag.html
When I
walked the dogs with my kids I was sick of carrying bags of dog poo, so I invented the Dicky
Bag. Made of neoprene it’s soft, lightweight, airtight, watertight and washable. Now I can
join in all the fun, all the time! And there’s no need to only walk where I know there are
bins are close by. Dog walking freedom – it’s in the bag. Mandy Davies
