Co-sponsors of the 2023 Winning Out Certificates

Being avid Agility competitors and running your own company can work well together as proven by Gemma and Nic Hanekom who compete all over the country while running their embroidery company Sew What! That's the same company that does all those gorgeous Olympia jackets! During 2007 they decided they wanted to put something back into agility by way of sponsoring a qualifier and they chose UK Agility to host their event.

Gemma and Nic love competing at UKA shows as, of course, do their dogs. They know the organisers well as they do all the UKA clothing and that they wanted to do something a bit different from the usual Agility, Jumping and Games classes for their shows. They realised that there were no Pairs classes at UKA shows

So they decided to sponsor a totally new Split Pairs class where the courses would be fast, flowing and fun with only the best, quickest and most accurate making the Final. This would be a competition for all heights/levels and it would work like this...

The course is split into two halves with one agility side and one jumping side. Dog 1 sets off and completes the Agility section. Then a fast changeover, and dog 2 is off to race round the Jumping section. The courses should be fast and smooth, not intertwining and allowing for a simple changeover. Gemma and Nic also made the decision to make it time + faults (so 5F would be converted into 5 Seconds) and added to the original time. The fastest pair wins!

Example of Split Pairs Course

There will be four qualifiers held throughout 2008. The top four pairs from each heat will be invited to the Grand Final on Saturday evening, at Scrambles UKA show in September 2008. Rosettes and trophies will be presented at each qualifier, with more rosettes, trophies and t-shirts (what else)

handed out at the Final.

  • Scrambles Agility April Show - 4- 6 April 2008
  • Aldon Agility - 21-22 June 2008
  • GT Agility - 28 - 29 June 2008
  • UK Agility Week Show - 29 July - 3 August 2008
  • Scrambles Agility September (Finals) - 27 September 2008
