One man's verdict

The term 'league table' is more commonly associated with sports teams, institutions/companies and schools than agility shows. Paul Oldfield has done his own end of the year list of shows that he attended, ranking them in order of points achieved. He stresses that these are his own personal opinions.

Paul Oldfield runs two Large dogs. One is in Grade 7. The other started the season in G4 and ended in G6. Paul camps in a caravan and is a vegetarian.

Marks are awarded out of 60. Shows with camping but no showers, however, can only by definition score a maximum of 55 points. The marks for surface ignore the weather conditions and merely reflect the grass cover, sand conditions and how level the ground is.

Set the standard. If you run a camping show, you need showers!

Food Scunthorpe It really wasn't a contest. Well done, Lions. I really should have made a deduction for no Kookaburra. 10

About the author...
Paul Oldfield has competed for around 14 years with Large dogs. He borrowed a Spaniel X (Sadie) who looked smashing but 4th at Elementary was her best place.

His first three collies - Josie, Leah and Katya - all got to Advanced. Josie was probably as good a Starter as any. She won the Spillers Final and NCDL plus got to Olympia and various other finals. Leah was - and is - an aggressive collie, so it was best to retire her. Katya has won the inaugural Kennel Club Novice Cup final, 2007 Supadog final and has been to Olympia and Crufts Singles pm final . Sveta is 2 1/2 and has one Grade 6 Agility win. She qualified for Olympia Novice Semi , CSJ Final and won Novice Cup Jumping at KC.
