Old or young, Large, Medium or Small there is a qualifier for you. You can find a heat near you using the Qualifiers button on the Agilitynet Show Diary page. Don't be shy. Go for it.

The UKA South West Winter Finals

Agility Rocks, Dogs Matter and PAwS Shows have teamed up to bring you The UKA South West Winter Finals. We want to celebrate Agility in the South West and hope that this event will allow the best of the best in the South West region to compete against each other – and will provide an opportunity for handlers and dogs at all levels to prove themselves. You can qualify for the finals at various shows throughout the winter.

The Showtime Novice Cup Regulations 2017

The Showtime Novice Cup is based on the Olympia Novice but for Scotland and ran for the first time last year. This is an agility competition for Large dogs jumping full height and will be judged under standard Kennel Club rules and regulations. It will be classified as combined Grades 3, 4 and 5. Any subsequent grade change will not alter a dog’s eligibility to compete in the Final.

There will be six heats, the first five dogs from each heat will go forward to the Final which will be held at Dundee Championship Agility Show in August 2017. Competitors may enter more than one dog in a heat and may qualify more than one dog for the Final.

Once a dog has qualified for the Final, further heats may be entered for competition but any placings will not affect the dog's eligibility for the final. The handler that qualifies a dog for the Final will be the handler who competes in the Final.

Heats will have trophies for 1st to 3rd place with rosettes to 10% of entry.

  • Fair City – Saturday, 13 May

  • Gleniffer – Sunday, 28 May

  • Prestwick – Sunday, 11 June

  • Tweedbank – Satrday, 24 June

Showtime Novice Cup 2017

Following the popularity and great success of the Showtime Novice Cup in 2016, Ian and Sue Malabar have decided to repeat the series under the same format for 2017.

The Judge for the final will be Connor Harley.

Many thanks to Kingdom of Fife, Fair City, Gleniffer, Prestwick, Tweedbank and Bearded Collie Clubs for their support in holding qualifiers again this year. Special thanks must again go to Dundee for being kind enough to host the final at their Championship Show in August.

Jump & Twist Find New Sponsors

CSJ Highland Agility Stakes 2017

This year The CSJ Highland Agility Stakes Final will take place at the Scottish Game Fair on Sunday, 2nd July 2017 at Scone Palace.

Rules for schedules

  1. Five heats for each height category will take place at KC registered shows in Scotland. Heats will take the form of Graded or Combined G6-7 Agility classes or G5-7 agility classes, held under standard KC rules and regulations.

  2. Where qualifiers are Combined or Graded 5-7 agility classes only Grade 6 or Grade 7 dogs can qualify for the Final.

  3. Where qualifiers include Low Height Option (LHO), only dogs competing at full height can qualify for the Final.

  4. The preliminary event and final will take place at the Scottish Game Fair at Scone on 2nd July 2017 and will each consist of an Agility class judged according to KC rules and regulations. Classes will run at full height.

  5. Competitors may enter more than one dog in any heat and may qualify more than one dog in any final. Once a dog has qualified for the final further heats can be entered for competition.

Small CSJ Highland Agility Stakes

The winner or first previously unqualified dog from each of the five heats will go through to the final at the Game Fair. Dogs eligible to compete are those measuring 350 mm (1 foot 1¾ inches) or under at the withers, those eligible to compete in Grades 6 or 7 for Small dogs and running full height.

Medium CSJ Highland Agility Stakes

The winner or first previously unqualified dog from each of the five heats will go through to the final at the Game Fair. Dogs eligible to compete are those measuring over 350 mm (1 foot 1¾ inches) and those measuring 430 mm (1 foot 5 inches) or under at the withers, eligible to compete in Grades 6 or 7 for Medium dogs and running full height.

Large CSJ Highland Agility Stakes

The first four previously unqualified dogs from each of the five heats will go through to the final at the Game Fair. Dogs eligible to compete are those measuring over 430 mm (1 foot 5 inches) at the withers, eligible to compete in Grades 6 or 7 for Large dogs and running full height.

The 2017 winners - Small, Medium and Large - will be invited back to defend titles in 2018.

Crystal Vision Agility Qualifier

The Crystal Vision Large Agility competition is a new competition sponsored by Crystal Vision Trophies. It will run along side the Adams Jumping Cup, but, of course, it will be agility rather than jumping. The prize money for the finals winners will be £250 cash for G1-4 winner and £250 cash for G5-7 winner. Rosettes will be presented to the top 15 dogs, trophies to 3rd place.

The heats will be held at Adams shows throughout the season with the Final being held at the Adams show on 17 September 2016. The first four from each heat going through to the final, 5th and 6th place being reserves for that heat.

New SMART Event for Agility Dogs

Starting in July, there will be a new national jumping cup competition called Low 550 for handlers wishing to compete in a prestigious qualifier at the same height as the Lower Height Option at Kennel Club Agility tests.  Sponsored by the internationally renowned SMART (Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Therapy) Clinic, this special event is open to all dogs in the Large height category (i.e. measuring over 430mm at the withers) with hurdles set at 550mm.

There will be 10 qualifying heats held around the country, each one split into two parts for Combined Grades 1-4 and Combined Grades 5-7.  The top two dogs and handlers from each part will qualify for a similarly split Final, taking place at Prestbury Park Championship and Premier Agility Show in September 2017, at the picturesque Cirencester Park in Gloucestershire.

About SMART Clinic
 The first SMART Clinic was set up in Swansea in 2004 by Lowri Davies, who is currently President of the British Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Society, and a second clinic was established in Cardiff in 2008.  Agility dogs now account for approximately half their case load.  Lowri sat on the Kennel Club’s Activities Health and Welfare Sub Group and has been one of the key personnel involved in the research into dogs jumping.   In January 2016, she joined an elite group of European Veterinary Surgeons formally recognised as specialists in the field of sports medicine and veterinary rehabilitation by being successful in her American Board exams and is now a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation.   With their special interest in agility dogs and promoting agility as a sport, SMART Clinic are delighted to be able to support the LOW 550 national jumping cup to help make it accessible to more dogs.

The clinics have gained an international reputation in the field of veterinary rehabilitation and staff are called upon to lecture both within the UK and throughout the world.  Their veterinary surgeons and chartered physiotherapists will design a program to address each patient’s individual requirements and return them to an active life as quickly as possible.  Whether a pet is recovering from surgery; underperforming in sporting disciplines such as agility, obedience or sheep dog trialling; or unable to exercise due to conditions such as arthritis, hip and elbow dysplasia or spinal disease, the program will be developed to improve movement and reduce pain.  Nurses and support staff also provide a free consultation service on nutrition and weight management.  Just as importantly, they will advise on how to keep pets happy and entertained during periods of reduced activity.  Both clinics are easily accessible from the M4 motorway affording easy access to clients from the whole of the UK.

Brillo 2016 News & Dates

Brillo International Bounce is pleased to confirm that alongside other prestige Agility events the Brillo International Bounce Final will use jumps set at 450mm for medium-sized dogs and 350mm for small-sized dogs.

The first qualifiers of the Brillo International Bounce competitions for both Medium and Small dogs are at Working Belgium Shepherd Dog Show during the weekend 23 - 24 April at Thame Showground. The schedule is available now on Agilitynet.

4th Height Jumping Cup Final at DogFest 2016

The 4th Height Jumping Cup team have announced the remaining six qualifying heats (of 10) with the Grand Final taking place on the weekend of 25th - 26th June in the main arena at DogFest 2106. Held in the grounds of Windsor Great Park, DogFest is an outdoor festival which celebrates everything that is special and life changing about owning a dog and is hosted by Channel 4's Supervet Noel Fitzpatrick.

The popular 4th Height Jumping Cup is open to all dogs measuring over 430mm at the withers (i.e. over Medium height) and with jump heights set at 550mm. The top four dogs and handlers from each heat with qualify for the 2016 Grand Final. There are special awards at each heat for the Best ABC presented by the Lagotto Romagnolo Association, and the Best Junior presented by Tick Tock the 4th Height Dog. There will also be an award for the highest placed Rescue Dog at the Grand Final presented by Fun With Fido.

Top Prizes Announced for Brillo Bounce and Agria Grand Prix

Change of Qualifying Heat

There will be a qualifying heat at the two-day Godmanchester DTC show on Sunday, 7 June 2015 at The Camp, Wood Lane, Ramsey, Cambs PE26 2XD.

Godmanchester DTC have also scheduled a special 4th height agility class on Saturday, 6 June, so there will be two great opportunities to try your dog over 550mm at the show!

This qualifying heat replaces the one previously scheduled at the Adams Agility Show on 25th April 2015, due to that show being cancelled.

It is hoped to confirm a heat in the South West later this year for the 2016 Final.

  6. Competitors entering the competition are deemed to have agreed to abide by the rules and regulations of the host club.

  7. Rosettes to 10 percent in each heat, up to 15th place.

  8. Trophies 1st to 3rd place in each heat.

  9. Should a heat need to be split, the prize allocation will be decided by the host club and event organisers.

Adams Derby Name Change

Adams Agility has renamed the Adams Small / Medium Derby (formerly Dovedale Speed & Power.) It will now be known the Adams Dinky Derby and will be held under the same rules as the Large Adams Derby except that it will be open to Small and Medium dogs.

The first section of the competition will contain the following pieces of equipment: A Frame, Dogwalk, Seesaw, a rising spread jump and a long jump. The placement of these obstacles is at the Judge’s discretion. The first section is un-timed and dogs must successfully complete this section without faults before proceeding to the second section of the competition. Dogs with faults will not be allowed to proceed to the second section.

The second section of the course is to be set as a fast flowing speed course which is timed and will contain no more than fourteen but no less than twelve single pole hurdles plus a set of twelve weaves.

There will be separate awards and finals for all three heights.

The Large Final will be held on 18 July and judged by Steve Read while the Dinky Derby Final will be held on 19 July 2015, judged by Ian Smith

The first Adams Derby was set up in 2001 by Chris and Sandra Adams. Over the years, it has been a very successful qualifier which has seen many of the top dogs in the country take part in the Adams Derby final when they were eligible for Grades 3-5. This final is loved by everyone who takes part and always gets the crowd going and is nail biting right until the last dog runs.

New Triple Team Qualifier Announced

The Triple Team Qualifier (TTQ) is a new agility event for teams of three handler/dogs of any height combination, organised by Hannah Grantham. Heats will be held throughout 2015 with two teams from each heat qualifying for the final

 The Final will be held at the Dog Vegas show on 25-28 September Show at Southwell Racecourse. Who will be crowned the TTQ Champions?

Dovedale Speed & Power Changes

Adams Agility has made the decision to change the name of the Dovedale Speed & Power qualifier to Adams Small/Medium Derby. The rules will also be changing to be the same as the Large Adams Derby so the Power section will be run before the speed. The top 4 from each height and qualifier will go through to the final rather than the first two.

From now on, if you qualify for the Adams Derby final at any height you do NOT have to run NFC in future Adams derby classes. If you are in the qualifying places after you have already qualified, the next reserve will be called in.
