CSJ Highland Agility Stakes is the only competition for senior and advanced agility dogs (G5-7) which open to competitors from across the UK but with qualifiers and finals exclusively held in Scotland. It consists of two agility classes - a Preliminary event and the Final, run to KC rules and regulations with jumps at full height. It's aim is to showcase the best of Scottish agility!

The CSJ Highland Agility Stakes Finals

Fiercely fought heats throughout the year culminated on 2^nd July with the CSJ Highland Agility Stakes finals, held at Scottish Game Fair, Scone Palace, Perthshire. Five heats for each height category were scheduled to take place at KC registered shows around Scotland, but as the fifth heat at Kingdom of Fife had been cancelled, the organisers took the top 5 from each heat and top 2 Small and Medium from Glennifer.

Scotland's favourite 'tartan trouser' judge Mark Bruce designed two super courses. He said, 'It's a fantastic competition and, as someone who has won this competition three times before, it was a very easy to accept this judging appointment.

'I loved my day in the ring, and the response from the competitors to my courses was great. I was very happy how they ran - fast and flowing, giving dogs a chance to really open up something which the crowd really appreciated. All of the competitors put 100 percent into both runs and the three winners were well deserved but, for me, Euan Patterson stole the day. He and his dogs were outstanding.

He concluded, 'It's great that CSJ sponsor this, and thanks to the Game Fair for hosting it. The work Lisa Duggan and her helpers put into this is immense. Roll on this weekend... it’s my first Champ judging appointment.'

Preliminary Round

Dogs in all three height categories – Small, Medium and Large – competed in a Preliminary Agility round in the morning before the Grand Final in the afternoon.
